CONGRATULATIONS! You have booked a Makeup Up Appointment at MizHitch which means that you have
researched our style and previous work and you are wishing to achieve that luminous and ethereal look
MizHitch makeup artistry is renowned for!
To ensure you are prepared for a successful session, please read on…
Do’s:
If you are having a makeup trial, consider scheduling a tan trial 24-48 hours prior to your makeup trial and your hair trial on the same day. This will go a long way towards seeing how the whole look will come together.
Come with makeup inspiration photos (even send these to us ahead of time!); our best loved inspo photos are when you chose from our very own work so please check out the gallery below and feel welcome to communicate your vision clearly
Photos of what your will be wearing, your jewellery choices and how your hair will be styled
Please gently exfoliate your skin 1-2 nights before. On the day, double-cleanse your face including your eye area
Arrive to your appointment with freshly cleansed skin, and follow your usual skincare routine so your skin doesn't dry out between washing your face and arriving to your appointment
It is vital to communicate with us ahead of time any allergies or sensitive areas of your skin so we can be prepared ahead of time
Wear a loose-fitting, button-up, strapless or zip-up shirt so you don’t smudge your makeup when taking it off
Shower before your appointment (showering after causes unnecessary humidity on the freshly applied makeup)
Brush your teeth before appointment as this will be hard to do after
If you wear contact lenses, please come with them already inserted
Make sure to arrive at your appointment on time and with an open mind, ready to collaborate and communicate with the makeup artist to achieve your desired look.
Don’t’s:
Please don't wear any makeup to your appointment; removing it will take time away from your allocated timeframe and element(s) of your actual makeup application will be sacrificed to compensate
Do not have any waxing or tinting the day of your appointment, do this in the week prior please
Avoid spray tanning your face; aside from this being acne causing it also impacts the foundation application
Do not do any harsh skin care treatments in the 3-5 days before hand
Do not arrive to your appointment sunburnt expecting it to be ‘covered’: Sunburn injuries cannot (and should not) be covered!
Please do not wear jewellery to your appointment (necklaces, earrings).
As a matter of courtesy:
Our treatment rooms are small and we reserve the right to not have any more that three people max in our space (including ourselves). If the opinion of your mum, sister, friend is important to you please select only one person at most to accompany you.
Please do not photograph or video your makeup artist without prior permission. This includes social media recordings.
We understand that on special occasions photography is necessary. After gaining prior permission from your makeup artist please also then ensure it does not hinder on the timeframe that the makeup artist has to complete your appointment.
How to support your makeup application:
It is strongly recommended for you to have a good quality brush and translucent powder to maintain your makeup over the course of the day/evening
If you are wearing false lashes, various circumstances (such as watery eyes, natural oils, sweat, tears, humidity, wind) may require additional glue to be applied
Brushes, powders, mini glue pots are available for purchase at MizHitch
Dehydrated and dry skin will inevitably show ‘cracks’ in the makeup as time wears on - this is outside of anyones control; if you know you have dehydrated and dry skin please speak with us ahead of time for recommendations on skin care treatments & products to treat your condition
Pimples and acne can be colour corrected however the texture and the ‘bump’ cannot be concealed; if you know you have breakout prone, acne or pimply skin please speak with us ahead of time for recommendations on skin care treatments & products to treat your condition
Please note that alcohol consumption dehydrates the body and the skin and this will impact your makeup
Please note that cigarette smoke/vape smoke does impact your makeup
Our limit of liability:
At MizHitch we offer you our very best care, attention, training and techniques. There is in excess of 35years makeup artistry experience between our team and we are confident and proud of the product and service we provide. We always strive for our clients makeup to last 8-16 hours, however there are various outside factors beyond our control that may impact that outcome. The face and neck contain around 68 muscles and all those muscles are engaged in our waking state. There are hundreds of thousands of sweat glands and pores in this area too constantly producing natural oils, sweat, tears etc. Then there are outside elements to consider in the environment. As makeup professionals, we always strive for any cosmetic, false lashes, jewels or prosthetics to last well. However with so many factors outside our control there is the chance that one (or some) of those factors may impact on the overall outcome. Therefore, it is important that you communicate any changes or variations required at the time of your appointment as we cannot be held accountable for any makeup mishaps after you leave our clinic. Some changes or variations could be: switching from strip last to lash clusters if the eye has a fold or crease that impacts the structure; using lash clusters due to oily glands around the eyes which impact on adhesives; shifting jewels or prosthetics if situated over a known sweaty area, a scarred area or large muscle mass; etc etc.
Ultimately we want your makeup to be banging! We look forward to working together to achieve the makeup look and outcome you desire!
